Spring

With snow still on the mountains, spring skiing conditions continue to attract vistors to the slopes. Lower down, young lambs and blossom herald the change of seasons. Boating, fishing, biking and hiking draw people outside to enjoy the spectacular snow capped mountain setting that is Queenstown.

Summer

The long summer days give all visitors the chance to explore this wonderful area. The mountains, rivers and lakes attract holiday makers intent on making the most of the settled warm weather…..and after a day spent in the outdoors there is still plenty of time to relax, socialize and dine as the sun slowly sets about 10pm. The day time temperature  is usually between 20-30degrees while at night, the clear skies mean cool temperatures and sound sleeping.

Autumn

This is the season for the artist, photographer and poet. Nature puts on a spectacular display of colour as the many deciduous trees lose their leaves. A trip to the Arrowtown area is a must as the trees brought here by the goldminers turn to yellows and golds, the colour that first attracted Europeans here so many years ago. While the first snow is eagerly anticipated by all the skiers, most visitors continue to enjoy fishing, hiking, boating, biking as the weather is still mild and settled.

Winter

This season attracts a whole new group of visitors. The spectacular scenery continues to attract the  photographer and sight seer along with the new arrivals…..the skiers and snowboarders.  Breathtakingly beautiful, the snow capped mountains, a crystal clear lake and blue-sky days provide the perfect alpine setting for an unforgettable winter holiday. Queenstown is a snow lover's paradise with several ski areas on the doorstep. After skiing, the town offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, cafes and retail therapy outlets.
